So we went to bed wayyyy past my bedtime. BUT, huge group games in the WC, which means mimosas, eggs, and early morning fútbol viewing. Ovalle had created a group text for the day’s festivities, and told everyone that we were beginning at 7AM (ARG v FRA).
We started getting the fruit salad and breakfast burritos ready when Griezmann scored from the penalty spot after Mbappe’s ridiculous run. That boy nice. Di Maria’s strike from distance provided the perfect post-breakfast burrito and second mimosa ‘dessert’.
After the first game we made our way down to the clubhouse containing a full kitchen, pool table, shuffle board, and 3 large televisions. We watched the Uruguay Portugal game and saw both Messi and Ronaldo exit the World Cup on the same day. The rest of the day involved poolside chillin’ and grillin’. No photos as my phone was kept farrrrrrrrr away from the aguas.
A couple of attendees wanted to get Korean BBQ, so I joined them. The food was delicious and they were well acquainted with the dishes, so I was well taken care of.
As Ovalle lives in Chinatown, we went to a celebration of all types of confetti and food/drank. There was confetti everywhere, and these tubes used to launch it. Definitely almost tripped two times because it saturated nearly ever step.

We met with another Lawrence resident, Dan, and came back to Ovalle’s place and watched Last Action Hero with Arnold. Perfect late night viewing. We then promptly went to sleep.
