After awakening from a seemingly cloud like dream status, I got up and did the morning yoga and meditation, and watched the end of the first WC game. Living on the East Coast is lovely, games are at an appropriate hour (most of the time sans some La Liga or EPL games). The o=West Coast would be ideal for those late NBA/NFL games, of which I rarely watch.
We were up a bit earlier this morning, and I had told Bob that I wanted to do some hiking. We popped out to Whole Foods (naturally), I got a meal replacement shake (delish, and it should have been for nearly $10, and we headed out. We went to a Redwood Reserve park and brought along the pups, Lily and Rex. As we were driving up these hills, what was once sun turned to cloud cover and intensely blown mist across the road. The ‘fog’ made it difficult to see at times, but Bob was a champ navigating the hills and getting us to our parking destination.
Once parked, and out of the vehicle, the pups were FREAKIN’ out at all the scenery and new scents. All the smellular stimulationz. For them, and for me, too. The air was so clean, so refreshing, hard to place into words. In one moment you could smell the moisture, and in the next, feel parts of the cool, dry air.
We started walking, and the pups were pulling like crazy. Walking in the forest along these trails was an incredible experience. Too surreal. Out of a NatGeo special, or something in a magazine. You’d look around and see all types of growth, small and large in various levels, making it textured, like you could touch it, as you walked.
We came back from the hike, pups exhausted, and Bob gave them a bath. We cooked up those eggs and bacon from the previous day and devoured a fantastic lunch. We played FIFA until Alexis came home, and after about an hour drive to cover ~25 miles, made it into SF proper.
There was about an hour wait to get seated at Tony’s so we popped over to the bar next door for a drink. There, two old friends, Torey (plus partner) and Dan, were able to join. We moseyed our way back across the street and got seated. I don’t have photos from the pizza and meatballs, but they were really, really, really good.
Dan had some more work to do in the evening (weak considering I hadn’t seen him since the WC in Rio) and went home. Bob, Alexis, Torey, Marty, and I went a little ways to this Belgian brewhouse for a beverage.

I promise you I can see in this photo and I am not nearly as intoxicated as this photo may suggest. It simply has to do with the timing of the capturing of the photo, and my blinking, I think.
After our one beer we made our way back home to Redwood City and promptly placed our heads to rest getting ready for the next day.
