So y’all remember that meal? It was so rich that I had some super twisted dreams. It could have been the cocktails, but I really think it was that buttery dish behind the gelatin pate that did it. Not all the other food on food, just that.
As you can imagine, I did not sleep all that well and woke up frequently. Tried to catch some final z’s, but that didn’t work out all that well. I ended up getting out of bed and was all out of sorts at around 9:30AM after maybe moving in and out of sleep, and woke up in a little bit of a funk. I think after the previous two days of nature on nature on wine, I was left thinking, what do I do?!
Yoga, meditate. That got me right. THEN, I decided to get this travel blog thing going. It took me longer than I’d like to admit to figure out how to work this site, after which I was pretty pleased with the result.
“You’re about to become very good at everything”
After the clouds the day before, the day was incredibly sunny which also helped the mood. Took a nice walk down Franklin Street into the downtown, wanted to check out the Shaky Isles coffee shop. They have the slogan above, and I thought, “alright word“.
I sat down and began getting an idea of how to work this thing, sipped on some jasmine green tea, and then made my way to the Northern Steamship Co., a bar across from the harbor, and had some calamari with an old fashioned as I started writing these posts. This is me, documenting me doing this blog, trying to pretend I’m doing stuff while not feeling silly. Note: I feel/felt silly.

After 5 hours of trying to get the blog going, I decided it was time to call it quits. I walked over to the Sky Tower which had a restaurant called Depot Eatery and Oyster Bar. It had gotten some good reviews, so I figured it was worth checking out.
I first began seated outside right next to the bar, facilitating my procurement of another old fashioned, markedly stronger than the previous one. A couple seats popped open inside, so they allowed me to switch.
I got half an order of short ribs that came with a mashed tatoes like puree. It was really good, meat falling right off the bone. The server was spot on in helping me pick out my food, as he told me that I was originally thinking of ordering a lot of food. Then the main came out. This plate was HUGE, and the haiupka fish was so flavorful.

I was told to take the bread, place some of the vegetable on the far right of the plate atop, and then add the fish with a drazzle of limón. The vegetables had a real Indian feel to them, definitely used cumin, coriander, and perhaps even some garam masala. The plate was incredible, and I was really STUFFED to the gills.
Left the restaurant and walked home to help ease some of the food coma and itis that was slowly taking effect. Got back to the hostel, super contented, and went to sleeps.
